Mrs Eva Newman, nee Birenbaum, was 15 when she was deported from Hungary to Auschwitz. She survived alone under the most horrific conditions in the shadow of the furnaces that devoured her entire family. The following year in the freezing winter of 1945, the Nazis marched the prisoners out of the camp on the infamous Death March towards Bergen Belsen.
Today she lives in Manchester and is the Matriarch of four proud Jewish generations and has returned to Poland to lead many educational journeys for young Jews together with JRoots.
This film is a permanent record of her remarkable legacy of faith in the face of adversity and rebuilding from the ashes of destruction.
