Young Patrons of Aish Launched
29th February 2016- Young Patrons of Aish was launched last week with a canapé reception at the Omer Tiroche Contemporary Art Gallery. Guests enjoyed the gallery’s latest exhibition whilst learning more about the new initiative.
The exclusive event, which was spearheaded by volunteer Franny Caller, saw guests socialising and listening to guest of honour, philanthropist and ex-BICOM president, Edward Misrahi, who stressed the importance and beauty of giving. Mr Misrahi gave those in attendance words of encouragement, stressing the importance of those in their twenties and thirties taking responsibility for the charity.
As a new initiative, Young Patrons of Aish will enable the charity to provide inspiring, relevant education opportunities for young people in schools, universities and communities nationwide.
Mr Misrahi, a supporter of the work Aish does, said: “Giving is just as much for the giver as it is for the recipient, and you can only know this by actually starting to give.”
Rabbi Moshe Mayerfield, Aish UK Director, said: “The event was truly amazing; not only because of the art, the ambiance or the location, but as it’s so humbling for me to stand amongst young Jewish professionals not only engaging in their heritage but investing in it in such a meaningful and concrete way.”
