York Trip 2022
The Day Trip of a Lifetime.
"When life gives you lemons, make lemonade!"
We might not be able to travel abroad to explore the heritage sights of Morocco and Poland as we did last year, but did you know there are fascinating Jewish heritage sights on our doorstep?!
York, secretly known as The Birthplace of Jewish England - A city with Roman roots and a Viking past, where ancient walls surround the picturesque surrounding of nature. Unleash the secrets hidden within and hear from the incredible Rabbi Daniel Rowe about the birthplace of anti-Semitism in England at the infamous Clifford’s tower.
Enjoy an afternoon in the lap of nature, with a chance to explore some of the scenic areas surrounding the city.
Finish off with a BBQ in the beautiful Rountree Park before we head off back home.
No need to bring any food along. We will be providing lunch packs at our meeting point and anything else that you require during the day.
Join us whichever uni you are at for an all-inclusive experience to remember.
Travel arrangements, food and transportation will all be catered for.
Simply be in touch with Shauly at sstrom@aish.org.uk or Adina at astrom@aish.org.uk for help with your specific campus.
FAQs:
Covid-19
As it is legal to travel for recreational reasons, we will be making full use of the current allowances by allowing students to join us in York from whichever city you are currently situated in.
We have carefully received guidance from legal experts to ensure that our programme and trip structure abides by the currently set out guidelines. We will of course continue to monitor the legislation and make adjustments if required.
How large is the group?
We are going to be grouping students into groups of 5 or 6 in order that we can maintain distancing and avoid gathering in large groups.
All students will each be provided with a wireless headset and disposable earphones, for them to hear the tour guide and communicate with the leaders and each other.
How will the food be served?
We will be accompanied by our operations team who will be preparing and providing all meals in a completely Covid secure environment.
Will petrol costs be paid for?
Yes. We will be communicating with each individual to reimburse train travel from the station of departure to York station, or to drivers for each bubble to ensure that all petrol costs incurred during the trip are reimbursed.
Is there a fee for this trip?
We are endeavouring to provide this trip free of charge for all Aish on Campus students. There may be a nominal fee that you need to put down as a deposit for the radio transmitters, and you will need to lay-out for travel.
